About Sunshine Coast Motorcycle School

Learn how to ride a motorbike

Sunshine Coast Motorcycle School was started by Tanya Price with the aim of teaching people how to ride motorbikes. We are a small business focused on one on one training, customising each lesson to suit the learners needs. Tanya is a natural teacher who will make you feel comfortable and at ease whilst imparting her knowledge onto you. .

Adele also works for Sunshine Coast Motorcycle School. Adele has a background in Motorcycle Training that goes back 15 years, including teaching the New Zealand postal service and running special skills training for the HOGs group.

If you already have some experience riding, talk to Tanya or Adele about the Q-Ride course to get your Department of Transport’s certificate of competency, which you then take to the Department of Transport, who will then convert that to a motorcycle licence at no extra cost. If you haven’t got your Learners, or don’t know how to ride, talk to Tanya or Adele about the Pre Learner Q-Ride.

Q-Ride

Q-Ride

The Q-Ride training and assessment consists of a number of competency standards that your trainer will take you through. When you have demonstrated you are competent in all of the Q-Ride competencies, we will issue you with a Q-Ride Certificate. Before you can ride unaccompanied on your motorbike, you must either take your current licence and Q-Ride Certificate to a Department of Transport and Main Roads customer service centre, or upgrade your licence on line, to get your motorbike licence. There is no extra charge.

Great Experience

Great Experience

Riding a motorbike is not like a driving car. Usually we get a car licence out of necessity. We get a bike licence because we love motorbikes. This makes the learning experience much more enjoyable. We are doing something we are passionate about. Even if you are nervous about your first ride, learning with us you will soon feel confident and love the experience.

Personal instruction

Personal instruction

One on one instruction customised to your needs based on your skills and experience. Whether it be a refresher lesson before you get back on the bike after a few years off, or a few lessons before you complete the Q-ride, or you need to learn from scratch. The instructor is focused on you alone resulting in a high quality, individualised lesson.
